RRRA Radios in the Park 2025

On July 15th, the Red River Radio Amateurs continued a summer event to showcase portable radio operation at the city park in Sabin, Minnesota.

The weather for the event was a mixed bag, with temperatures bordering on too cold for July, some sprinkles of rain, and a thick haze from wildfire smoke. Despite all that, the event was well attended.

On display were several portable antenna setups, POTA rigs, and base stations brought out by club members. While some folks did attempt contacts, the focus of the event was to showcase members’ portable setups, answer questions, and compare how different radios sound on the same antenna.

One highlight was hearing some FM satellite passes, as well as copying an SSTV image from the International Space Station.
